I know it’s been awhile since I have done a blog on love and I’m so excited! My 4th wedding anniversary will be on tomorrow, so you can say that love is in the air!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I was having a conversation with my sister and she was telling me about how an associate of hers was telling her about her recent date (My sister and I have been out the dating game for almost ten years, it’s fun to live vicariously through single girls!). Now, her dilemma actually came after the date. They went to dinner and decided to go back to his place(there was kissing, hugging, and so much rubbing!) and she didn’t know if it would have been appropriate to sleep with him on the first date. I never found out what happen and if they went all the way, but it did make we ponder on the big question………….. When is it appropriate to sleep with your new love interest? Is the first date too soon? Well, a couple years ago, this question would have been easy to answer, of course sleeping with a guy/girl on your first outing is too soon. But, in 2009, people are more sexual and a lot less shy with their sexual expression. In recent times, people are being a lot more open in their sexualities, open- mindedness, confidence levels, sexual preference, “no preference”, open relationships, and all that freaky stuff. It seems as though people are more into “having fun” and “pleasuring themselves” than standing for any type of morality or settling down with one person. I can’t say that I’m opposed with living free-spirited, who wouldn’t want to have fun 24/7, but the reality is that life is not one big party and at some point life have to slow down and stand for something. So, I guess people are okay with sleeping with a person early on in a budding relationship. Personally, I think if you want a long-term committment from this guy/girl, that you should hold off sex for a little while. You don’t want to give the impression that you are just a “jumpoff” or “bootycall”. You want them to know that you are more than your physical body, you want that person to see your soul and everything that makes up you. But, if you are just looking for fun, go ahead a knock yourself out…… but please be responsible because AIDS, STD’s, and teen pregnancy are real.
